Chibero College of Agriculture

The college was established in 1961 and is run by the Government of Zimbabwe under the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development. It is located 25km South of Norton, a small out 40km outside Harare.

The farm is a total of almost 1000ha. The farm is mainly used for instructional purposes and a number of enterprises are carried out but not all of them are for commercial purposes since some are not adapted to the environs of the college, they are for training.

The main activities at the college include the production of crops such as maize, soyabeans, Virginia tobacco, potatoes, cotton, groundnuts, wheat, sunflower, sorghum and horticulture. Livestock the college keeps dairy, beef cattle, pigs, poultry, goats and rabbits. They also engage in timber production where they produce timber from eucalyptus grandis.
